Eligibility Details

Educational Qualification:

Candidates must possess a B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc. (Engineering) or 5-year Integrated M.Tech degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in one of the 6 advertised disciplines from a university/institution recognised by AICTE/UGC.

Only full-time, on-campus regular degrees are eligible. Correspondence, distance education, part-time, and research-based degrees are not accepted.

GATE Score Requirement:

Candidates must hold a valid GATE 2024, GATE 2025, or GATE 2026 score in the same discipline as their qualifying degree.

GATE 2023 and earlier scores are not valid. Equal weightage is given to all three years’ GATE scores.

Final Year Applicants:

Candidates awaiting results or appearing in their final semester/year exam during 2026 may apply, but must submit their final result (minimum 60%) by 30 November 2026 if selected.

Selection Process

Candidates are shortlisted for Personal Interview based on GATE 2024/2025/2026 scores in a 1:12 ratio (discipline and category wise).

The final selection is based purely on Personal Interview performance and medical fitness, as GATE scores carry no weightage in the final selection process.

Salary Details

During Training Period (1 Year):

Monthly Stipend: Rs. 74,000/-

One-time Book Allowance: Rs. 30,000/-

Mandatory lodging & boarding provided by NPCIL.

After Appointment as Scientific Officer/C (Group A):

Pay Level 10: Rs. 56,100/- in Pay Matrix + 58% DA (as on 01.07.2025) + allowances (Transport Allowance, HRA, Site Location Allowance, Professional Update Allowance, LTA, Medical (CHSS), Children Education Assistance, Performance Linked Incentive, EPF, Gratuity, Group Insurance, and NPCIL Defined Contribution Pension Scheme 2025).

Visit www.npcilcareers.co.in and click on Apply → Online Registration. Enter your GATE registration number (from GATE 2024/2025/2026 admit card), discipline, personal details, and category. An activation link will be sent to your registered email.

Step 2: Account Activation

Click the activation link in your email to activate your login.

Step 3: Fill Application Form

Log in and complete all stages including educational qualifications, post-qualification work experience (if any), personal details, interview city preference, reactor stream choice (if applicable), and upload scanned photo (max 50 KB) and signature (max 20 KB).

Step 4: Submission and Fee Payment

Review the draft carefully and click “Submit Application.” No changes can be made after submission. Pay the application fee (if applicable) online via debit/credit card, net banking, or UPI. Note your application number on successful payment.
