1. CCEA Approves Two Major Highway Projects worth ₹14,114.81 Crore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi ki chairmanship mein Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) ne do bade National Highway infrastructure projects ko approval diya hai. Inka kul investment ₹14,114.81 crore hai.

  • Project 1 – Delhi Six-Lane Tunnel (₹6,969.67 crore): Yeh six-lane road tunnel National Highway NH-148AE par banaya jayega, jo Dwarka Expressway (NH-248BB) ko Nelson Mandela Marg (Vasant Kunj, New Delhi) se jodege. Ise NHAI dwara Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) ke tehat develop kiya jayega.
  • Project 2 – Greenfield Highway Corridor in Uttar Pradesh (₹7,145.14 crore): PMGS-NMP ke tehat UP mein ek naya greenfield highway corridor banaya jayega, jisse connectivity behtar hogi aur logistics costs kam honge.

Exam Points: NHAI ki sthapna 1988 Act ke tehat hui thi, iska HQ New Delhi mein hai. Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) ke tehat government 40% upfront payment karti hai aur baki 60% construction/operations period ke dauran diya jata hai.

2. UN SDG Index 2026: India Ranks 94th (Highest-Ever Rank)

United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) dwara jari Sustainable Development Report 2026 ke mutabik, India ne UN SDG Index 2026 mein apni ab tak ki sabse behtar 94th rank (out of 166 countries) hasil ki hai.

  • India ka overall SDG score sudhar kar 67.4 ho gaya hai (jo 2024 mein 64.1 aur 2025 mein 66.0 tha).
  • India ne SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), aur SDG 13 (Climate Action) mein kafi accha sudhar kiya hai.
  • Halaanki, India ko abhi bhi SDG 2 (Zero Hunger – undernourishment 12%) aur SDG 3 (Good Health – child wasting 19%) mein challenges ka samna karna pad raha hai.
  • Global Toppers: Finland (1st), Sweden (2nd), and Denmark (3rd).

3. India Adds 709 New Faunal Species to Its Biodiversity Database

Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) ne apni annual release ‘Animal Discoveries 2025’ mein confirm kiya hai ki India ne 2025 mein apne national biodiversity database mein 709 new faunal species ko joda hai. Iske sath hi India ki total documented fauna 1,06,467 species se zyada ho gayi hai.

  • Isme 391 species science ke liye bilkul nayi hain aur 318 new country records hain.
  • Inme sabse zyada discoveries insects (338 species) ki hui hain.
  • State-wise dekha jaye toh Maharashtra ne sabse zyada new species (74) record ki hain, iske baad Arunachal Pradesh (67) aur Kerala (64) ka sthan hai.
  • ZSI ki sthapna 1916 mein hui thi aur iska Headquarter Kolkata, West Bengal mein hai.

4. GoI Amends Drugs Rules 1945: OTC Medicines Access Expanded

Ministry of Health and Family Welfare ne 2 July 2026 ko Drugs Rules, 1945 mein sanshodhan (amendment) kiya hai. Iske tehat Over-the-Counter (OTC) medicines ki availability ko expand kiya gaya hai.

  • Ab antifungal creams, oral rehydration salts (ORS), aur low-dose analgesics ko bina doctor ke prescription ke retail stores se aasaani se kharida ja sakega.
  • Iska mukhya uddeshya rural aur semi-urban areas mein logo tak essential medicines ki pahunch ko aasan banana hai jahan doctor availability limited hoti hai.

5. National Conference on ‘One Health’ Begins in Chennai

Chennai, Tamil Nadu mein 2 July 2026 se do-divasiya (two-day) national conference aur table-top simulation exercise shuru hui hai, jiska theme ‘One Health: Integrating Health Security and Biosecurity’ hai.

  • ‘One Health’ concept human, animal, aur environmental health ke interconnection ko recognise karta hai, jise WHO, FAO, UNEP aur WOAH endorse karte hain.
  • India ne 2022 mein ICMR ke tehat National One Health Mission ki sthapna ki thi.

6. ACME & Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company Sign Green Hydrogen PSA

ACME Group ki unit ‘ACME Green Molecules’ ne Japan ki Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company ke sath ek binding long-term Purchase and Sale Agreement (PSA) sign kiya hai.

  • Iske tehat green methanol aur green ammonia ki supply ki jayegi, jiska upayog Japan mein shipping fuel aur industrial feedstocks ke roop mein hoga.
  • Yeh agreement India ke National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM) ke target (5 MMT green hydrogen production by 2030) ko support karta hai.

7. International & Defence Updates

  • BPCL Acquires Stake in Brazilian Deepwater Oil Block: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) ne Brazil ke deepwater oil block BM-SEAL-11 mein participating interest acquire kiya hai.
  • ADB USD 210 Million Loan for Karnataka: Asian Development Bank (ADB) ne Karnataka ke School Education Improvement Programme ke liye 210 million USD ke loan ko approval diya hai.
  • RIMPAC 2026: Indian Navy ne Hawaii (USA) mein chal rahe RIMPAC 2026 exercise ke liye apne P-8I Long Range Maritime Patrol aircraft ko deploy kiya hai.
  • US 250th Independence Day: United States of America ne 4 July 2026 ko apni aazadi ki 250th Anniversary (Semiquincentennial) manayi hai.
